Freemesh is a Community driven Hotspot network, similar to the german Freifunk movement. It’s a next generation network in many ways: It’s auto-healing and, in our case, it will only apply the next generation IP protocol IPv6. Of course, the network still maintains connectivity into the “old” Internet.

Best of all .. all you need to participate is a cheap, off the shelf, wireless router. You may even already have the right device for the job.
